The SLO County Airport is seeking volunteers for our upcoming Mass Casualty Incident Drill on Wednesday, May 15th from 9am to 1pm.
The Drill exists for Airport members and emergency responders to exercise their methods of operation in handling Mass Casualty Incidents. We are looking for volunteers to act as involved members—specifically commercial passengers who have suffered serious injury.
Please note that volunteers will have lunch provided during the course of the day. We ask that volunteers arrive “casualty-ready,” i.e. in clothing and cosmetics that appear as though they were involved in an emergency incident. Volunteers will also need to sign a release form prior to participation, which will be sent out to interested parties. Please also note that select volunteers may be airlifted from the scene in a helicopter.
As we are aiming to find 100 volunteers, we would appreciate if you helped spread the word! Please put interested individuals in contact with Airport Administration at airportstaff@co.slo.ca.us. For reference, our office hours are Monday through Thursday, from 8am to 4:30pm.
