LOCATION: San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, off Highway 1 in El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay
NEED: Enthusiastic volunteers to build, plant, harvest, teach and have fun!
JOB DESCRIPTION: If you enjoy being in a beautiful outdoor environment with friendly like-minded people this could be the place for you!
The Botanical Garden was constructed as an inspiring environment filled with beautiful drought-tolerant plants. This position is as creative as you want it to be, or straight-forward beautification.
Tuesdays from 9-11am.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seed starting, planting, weeding, deadheading, pruning, mulching
- Path maintenance, some light construction, pest management
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Various gardening jobs require varied levels of physical fitness but anyone is welcome to participate and we can always find a task suitable to a volunteer’s needs and desires.
TRAINING: Training is provided on site. A general orientation to the garden and its mission will be provided.
COMMENTS: We encourage volunteers to wear sturdy footwear and bring their own gloves, water and sunscreen.
