Are you #DowntownProud? Downtown Proud is a day dedicated to learning about what it takes to keep our city’s most popular destination clean, safe and beautiful. On November 21st the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association is planning a morning full of community partnership to clean the amenities Downtown that we often take for granted but could use just a little bit of love to get them back to their original luster. A major part of this day is going to be preparation for a wet winter. Teams will be broken up into blocks where they will clean up the sidewalks but they will also work on making sure storm drains are cleared of debris, flood potentials are reduced and flood gates can be used on businesses.
This day is much more than just a clean up day, it is a chance to learn about how a community can come together and ensure that we have a safe place to shop, dine and recreate. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty and to come prepared to roll up their sleeves and leave Downtown cleaner than they found it that morning.
