Representing more than 90% of the Red Cross workforce, volunteers are the backbone of our lifesaving mission. From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, Red Cross volunteers go wherever they're needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals when they need them most. Whatever your schedule and interests, whether you want to volunteer from home or in the field, locally or nationally, working with kids or adults, together we can find the right fit for you!

Option 1: Orientation and Shelter Training bundle (3 hours)
Learn about volunteering and start your journey right away by taking the training with a Red Cross professional.
By attending one of these sessions, you will be one quick step away from getting in the field to help at a shelter!

Option 2: Orientation (30 minutes)
Learn about Red Cross, what a shelter volunteer does, and how to start your journey. Meet a volunteer recruiter and learn how to apply.
