On Saturday, September 10th, the American Heart Association will host the Annual Heart and Stroke Walk, their premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke.
The non-competitive 5K walk will kick off at the Avila Beach Promenade with a health expo and fun festivities for the whole family, including a Kids Zone.
Volunteers are needed to help with the set-up and break-down of the event, as well as during the event and on the route. The time is from 6:30AM-12:00PM and shifts are available. Water, coffee and subway sandwiches will be provided.
All volunteers age 12 or older are welcome to participate, and students will receive community service hours.
