Who We Are
End Kids Cancer is looking for a volunteer to help with writing correspondence and with editing other documents such as grant applications. This would require about 1 to 3 hours per week.
To volunteer, please contact Frank Kalman at 805-550-7682 or email: frank@endkidscancer.org. Website: EndKidsCancer.org.
There are children on the Central Coast and in communities all across the country, with a deadly childhood cancer, neuroblastoma (NB - the most common cancer among infants). These children are fighting for their lives—fewer than half will survive. When a child relapses, that number will drop significantly, and that is true when children are properly diagnosed. Unfortunately, up to a third aren't, causing them to be given the wrong treatments, and worse. These children are our focus.
What We Do
When a child anywhere in the country is diagnosed with the deadliest form of cancer, NB, in all likelihood, that child will be treated with protocols developed by doctors on our medical advisory board.
Our placement of funds has already shown to be effective. FDA and NCI funding has followed our support of early phases cancer research of some of the most promising non-toxic treatments using immunotherapy.
Also, children are dying needlessly who could be saved with current treatments, because their parents don't know about them. We have produced a free guide booklet, Steps to Hope, that teaches parents and caregivers, in just 25 pages, how to find the cutting-edge centers focused on their child’s cancer, to confirm the diagnosis, and get treatment recommendations. The booklet is designed to benefit adults, as well.
