MADD works to end drugged and drunk driving, prevent underage drinking, and support victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes. Our vision is to end impaired driving for good. One woman’s courageous fight against drunk driving sparked a movement that transformed our nation for decades. We carry that mission forward, invigorated by the possibility that together, we can end impaired driving in our lifetime. This requires collective change; sharing the responsibility of protecting one another from harm.
What We Do
MADD Tri-Counties facilitates our substance abuse prevention education programs in 4th-5th grade, middle schools, and high schools throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. We also use youth-led campaigns to increase local awareness, and host annual walk events to raise funds to continue to keep our services free to the public. We have adult and college level prevention programs on the dangers and consequences of impaired driving, along with offering tangible solutions on how to responsibly drink. We assist with DUI checkpoints, and provide educational materials to vehicles that come through checkpoints. We offer volunteer and intern opportunities for public speaking, event planning, fundraising, and community engagement.
