Meals That Connect: Senior Nutrition Program

Meals That Connect consists of approximately 30 mostly part-time staff and relies on a workforce of over 300+ volunteers. Our volunteers deliver meals on weekdays to homebound seniors and assist in meal preparation and in-person dining services at eight dining sites throughout the county of San Luis Obispo. What they provide is so much more than a hot meal; it is the smile and human contact that help reduce the isolation that many seniors in our community experience. This personal contact is also an assurance to our homebound clients' families that their loved ones are safe and cared for.

Meals That Connect provides free, hot, noontime meals to seniors 60 years of age and over throughout SLO County. These meals are delivered every weekday to one of nine lunch sites throughout the county or directly to clients' homes. In addition to serving nutritious meals, our volunteers personally visit our homebound clients, offering social contact as well as emergency assistance when necessary.
