Who We Are
The SLO Community Holiday Feast (new name, same wonderful supporters!) has been providing a delicious Christmas dinner and care packages to those in need in our community since 1997!
What We Do
This Christmas, for the 28th consecutive year, the San Luis Obispo community will provide our County’s unhoused population and food insecure families with a wonderful home-cooked holiday feast and essential warm winter clothing care packages at the Odd Fellow’s Hall at 520 Dana Street in downtown SLO. Doors open at 2:45pm!
The SLO Community Holiday Feast (new name, same wonderful supporters!) warmly welcomes our County’s unhoused population and also anyone in need. We provide a delicious holiday dinner along with live musical entertainment. This occasion is used as a means of gifting those who are unsheltered with much needed winter clothing care packages to help them survive our cold wet winters. These care packages typically contain brand new: sleeping bags, hooded sweatshirts, winter jackets or rain ponchos, socks, scarves, gloves, beanies and toiletries.
Last year, 700 meals and care packages were distributed at both the Odd Fellow’s Hall and delivered throughout San Luis Obispo County. This year, we will have a sit-down meal while also delivering to select locations within the County.
Please help us to make this event possible! We are in tremendous need of cooked food and also financial assistance to purchase the winter clothing care packages. You can sign-up or donate on the SLO Community Cares website at http://www.slocommunitycares.org
We are a non-profit organization thus all donations are tax-deductible. For more information about this event, please contact Sheri Eibschutz at slocommunitycares@cafive.com
Thank you in advance for this consideration!
