Description

Central Coast State Parks Association is looking for new board members...maybe that's you!

CCSPA, in partnership with California State Parks, promotes public awareness and stewardship of our natural resources and cultural heritage, now and for future generations. As a cooperative association, we financially support interpretation, education, and volunteer efforts in CA State Parks along the Central Coast.

Have you visited the Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach? Taken a stroll through the Spooner Ranch House at Montaña de Oro State Park? Attended a Mind Walks seminar in Morro Bay or explored the exhibits at the Museum of Natural History in Morro Bay State Park? These are all places and programs that we support, and we’d love more help!

Board members must have a passion for the education, interpretation, and conservation of our State Parks. We meet once a month in San Luis Obispo, and look for board involvement in a variety of events and programs throughout the year. We encourage ongoing learning and skills-building in our board members by supporting board member attendance at Spokes' training sessions. Board positions have two year terms, renewable for a maximum of three consecutive terms.

Currently, we are seeking community members with the following skills, attributes, or experience:

  • residents of San Luis Obispo County
  • experience in the tourism industry
  • experience in the event planning
  • experience in risk management
  • experience in marketing
  • experience in fundraising and/or grant writing
  • experience in nonprofit governance and/or law

If you have any of the skills or experience listed above and are interested in learning more about CCSPA and exploring this opportunity, please contact Kristin Howland, Executive Director, ed@centralcoastparks.org, 805-548-0391.

Thank you for supporting our CA State Parks!
