Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County is seeking creative and motivated Marketing Volunteers to support our efforts in promoting our mission of empowering youth through mentorship. Our Marketing Volunteers will assist in creating content, managing social media, and developing marketing strategies to engage our community and attract volunteers, donors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and the organization’s website, including graphics, photos, videos, and written copy.
- Social Media Management: Assist in scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments/messages on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Event Promotion: Support the promotion of fundraising events and programs through various marketing channels, including email campaigns and press releases.
- Graphic Design: Create visually appealing marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and social media graphics using design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Community Outreach: Promote our work through tabling at various events, including Farmers Market on Thursday evenings.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation OR an interest in in-person outreach at tabling events.
- Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for supporting youth empowerment and mentorship.
- Previous marketing experience is a plus but not required.
Time Commitment:
5-10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule
