AmpSurf is looking for water safety volunteers during the 2021 Pismo Beach ISA World Para Surfing Championship

If you volunteer to help out at an event, make sure you can commit for the whole time period you have signed up for. The competitors and participants and your fellow volunteers are counting on you! We understand that circumstances change so please ensure you mail surf@ampsurf.org if you cannot meet your commitment.

Water Safety - Contest Only -Dec. 7th-11th, 4hr shifts.

As a Water Helper, you will be paired with an Instructor to assist participants learning to surf. This includes following any directions from the Instructor, assisting persons with disabilities after riding a wave and monitoring participants in the water for safety.

All volunteers will be given training on what your role will be the day of the event to ensure everyone is squared away. The goal is make the event the as safe and fun possible for our participants.

All volunteers will be given a white rash guard to mark them as volunteers so participants can easily see them in the water. AmpSurf does have wet-suits but you are welcome to bring your own and any other water wear for the ocean. Sunblock is also recommended.

There will be 4 hour shifts between 6am - 6pm. Please indicate during signup which shift(s) you are able to commit to.

Shift 1 - 6am - 10am

Shift 2 - 10am - 2pm

Shift 3 - 2pm - 6pm

This is a great opportunity to participate in a sporting event that promotes adaptive athletes.
