The Shower Cleaner works on-site at one or more of the locations where Shower the People SLO operates. After one of our guests finishes using a shower, you will go in, spray things down with sanitizing solution, take out the trash, wipe down and dry down surfaces (including shower, sink, mirror, and toilet), and make sure everything is good for the next guest (shower curtain tucked in, fresh bathmat and towel ready). Then you let our Greeter know that the next guest can come in for their shower.

- We have three showers in our trailer. We might give as many as 33 showers on a busy day. So each shower will need as many as eleven clean-ups. If we have a full crew of three cleaners, you'll be cleaning about that many. Sometimes we're short a cleaner and have to work a little harder.
- We have gloves, masks, PPE body suits, and face shields available. We have relaxed our Covid-related regulations and now only the gloves are mandatory for shower cleaners.
- There's some (un)packing and organizing at the beginning and ending of the shift: moving some boxes of supplies around, setting out mats, letting down staircases. Let us know if you have mobility / dexterity / load-bearing issues. If you can't do any of that, but you can still clean showers, that's fine.
- You need to be able to tolerate some sun.
You don't have to commit to be there every Sunday. We'll let you know how you can schedule which shifts you want to take.
