Volunteer opportunities involving client contact require completion of a state-mandated 40-hour training (the next one is in January, see below for dates). This in-depth training covers the dynamics of intimate partner violence, teaches crisis counseling skills, and introduces the new volunteer to Stand Strong. Upon completion of the training, you receive certification as a Domestic Violence Peer Counselor.
A valid driver’s license and background check clearance are required to participate in this volunteer program.
