Volunteers will be assigned to a post for the evening in which they will station themselves throughout the entire parade.
- Barricade Monitors - Barricade monitors will be in place for the duration of the Parade. This is one of the most important positions of the event for safety of staff, participants and spectators. Barricade monitors must be at there location between 5:00- 5:30pm and will be relived from SLO Police Department between 9:30-10 pm. Barricade monitors will set-up barricades when they arrive at their location. They will make sure vehicles do not enter the barricades and move onto the Parade Route. Once monitors are excused from their post, they take barricades down and put them on the side of the road out of the way.
- Parade Walkers - Parade walkers walk the Parade route throughout the evening. Walkers make sure that no entries are throwing out any items to spectators. Walkers also are to urge groups to make up any gaps that form between entries.
