Center for Family Strengthening

Founded in 1987, the San Luis Obispo County Child Abuse Prevention Council (SLO-CAP) was formed by concerned citizens and professionals and rebranded itself as the Center for Family Strengthening in 2015.  The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors designates the Center for Family Strengthening as the self-governing nonprofit entity responsible for local efforts to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect with parent education resources and programs focused on building strong families. 

The Center for Family Strengthening serves as the nonprofit home for the Child Advocacy Center of SLO County, Parent Connection, Promotores Collaborative, Medically Fragile Homeless Program, and The Link Family Resource Center, and provides fiscal sponsorship for many projects.
