Who We Are

Coastwalk is a California state-wide non-profit organization which promotes coastal stewardship through fun, educational hiking and camping adventures along the California coast each summer. We are a volunteer run organization, with a group of volunteers living primarily throughout the California area, but also in other states. Currently, our outreach efforts have been focused in California. We would like to encourage folks from throughout the US to join Coastwalk, and explore the California coastline on a Coastwalk summer guided adventure or day-hike. Coastwalk volunteers can attend and participate at many outreach events (film festivals, surf festivals, ocean & environmental related festivals, farmers markets, etc.) throughout the year. Coastwalk is seeking individuals that would like to volunteer at "Tabling events", where you would be partnered with a "seasoned" Coastwalker, and would chat with folks about the various Coastwalk programs, the importance of coastal stewardship and how someone can become a coastal steward. Potentially you will discuss the Coastwalk mission to complete the 1,200 mile California Coastal Trail (CCT) *see our website for details:(www.californiacoastaltrail.org), the CCT is a footpath stretching the length of California, from Oregon to Mexico, that all people can use to hike and explore the incredibly diverse and stunning California coastline. Coastwalk advocates for open space areas and revitalized coastal public land areas in more urban locations, as well. As you can see, Coastwalk offers many opportunities for volunteering with our organization. I look forward to speaking with you further about your interests and how you would like to volunteer for Coastwalk.
