Friends of Price House

The Friends of the Price House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Price Historical Park in Pismo Beach. The organization was founded in 1992 by city officials and dedicated volunteers. We have recently completed restoration of the Price Anniversary House and are involved with ongoing maintenance and repair. At Meherin House we are restoring the interior in anticipation of opening a History Center of Pismo Beach there in future years. An event green is in planning that will stretch between the two houses.

The organization’s primary mission is to preserve promote the 1893 Price House—the historic home of Pismo Beach founder John Price—and its surrounding rancho grounds. Through exhibits, restoration projects, tours, and community outreach, the Friends of Price House advances public education regarding the rich history and prehistory of the Central Coast in the southern San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara counties area, with special attention to the story of John Michael Price, his family, and contemporaries.
