CORPSMEMBER ADVISORY BOARD (CAB) Corpsmember Advisory Boards (CAB) are the Corpsmember governments at each center or satellite. The CAB is a group of Corpsmembers elected to a term by their peers. CABs exist at all center and satellite locations and must hold regularly scheduled meetings. Unless specified, any Corpsmember is welcome to attend these advisory board meetings. The Corpsmember Advisory Board mission is to cultivate Corpsmembers to participate in the public life of the center, as a democracy, to use their rights and to discharge their responsibilities as an elected representative with the necessary knowledge and skills. CABs are the “official” voice of the Corpsmember community when bringing issues forth to staff and to plan center and satellite events (such as implementing programs, ideas, and events by Corpsmembers to make the center a better place, and recreation and volunteer events). They also assist with administration of events for the local community, such as blood drives or donation collections. CABs work with the designated Staff Advisor (a CMD staff person), the District Director, other center staff, the Corpsmember community, and the local community to decide on and approve projects and initiatives for the center/satellite, Corpsmembers, and local community. Each CAB will maintain a year-long calendar with upcoming events, meetings, etc., that are related to CAB. The calendar will be posted in a location that all Corpsmembers will be able to easily access. CAB members bring ideas, requests, and feedback to their meetings where the democratic process is used to give all Corpsmembers a voice and the ability to make decisions. Corpsmembers who participate in CAB learn about the democratic process, civic responsibility, leadership, problem solving, and teamwork.

We do conservationist work like for example Beach clean ups, recycle, setting up booths, etc.
